10 Best Things to Do in Vancouver This Week, Sept. 21-25
Recent rain has left Vancouver’s parks and gardens lush as the final days of summer lead toward cooler weather later this week. Autumn colours are beginning to emerge, alongside a September 21 to 25 calendar filled with arts, music, sports and time outdoors. BC Culture Days continues until October 4 with free events across the province, including comedy, art exhibitions, walking tours and creative social gatherings. The Vancouver Flamenco Festival runs through September 27 at 6161 Cambie Street, offering free masterclasses for various skill levels and a Flamenco Guitar Concert by Iminah Kani and Philippe Jean on September 22. Hot Off The Press on Main Street showcases local printmaking until September 26. Hermanos Gutiérrez performs at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on September 24, followed by Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour at the Freedom Mobile Arch on September 25. Fatboy Slim is scheduled to take the stage at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park on Friday evening. On the sports schedule, the Vancouver Canucks face the Edmonton Oilers in a preseason game at Rogers Arena on September 24, and the BC Lions meet the Saskatchewan Roughriders at BC Place the following night. The Interior Design Show Vancouver opens at the Convention Centre from September 24 to 27, while the Vancouver Maritime Museum continues its group sailing experiences from Ogden Avenue on select Thursdays and Sundays through September.
