ScentFest SF 2026 Launches New Niche Fragrance Event Model in San Francisco

ScentFest SF, a new event focused on artistic and niche fragrances, drew more than 4,000 visitors to Fort Mason Center in San Francisco from June 26 to 29, 2026. The inaugural festival surpassed its original projection of 2,500 attendees and featured more than 100 curated independent fragrance brands. Created by Sebastian Jara, known as The Perfume Guy, the event was designed as a West Coast platform for perfume brands, industry professionals, creators, and consumers. Instead of following a conventional European trade-show structure, ScentFest SF emphasized education, discovery, storytelling, and direct contact between brands and fragrance enthusiasts. Its format divided the day between professional and public audiences. Morning sessions were reserved for VIP and business visitors, including retailers, media, distributors, and other industry figures. Afternoons were open to consumers, who could explore and buy fragrances directly from brands while meeting founders and perfumers. Panel discussions, networking events, and informal gatherings added to the program. The festival received support from sponsors including Kintessence, Kayali, LuckyScent, Granado Brazil, and Jovoy Paris/Jeroboam. Retailers, distributors, cultural institutions such as L’Osmothèque, and representatives of European fragrance events also took part. Organizers say planning is already under way for a possible second edition in late June 2027. For San Francisco, ScentFest SF highlights the city’s role as a setting for independent creative industries and cultural discovery. Its strong attendance suggests that Fort Mason and the city’s waterfront can support specialized international events that bring together local consumers, visiting professionals, and emerging brands.
