Best Tech Events in Europe 2026: MERGE Madrid Highlights AI, Fintech and Web3
MERGE Madrid is scheduled for 27–29 October 2026, with a focus on the intersection of traditional finance, crypto and Web3. Organisers expect more than 3,000 attendees and over 200 speakers from more than 40 countries. The programme has six tracks: Digital Money, Payments and Stablecoins; Banks, Brokers and Institutional Crypto; Tokenization and Capital Markets; Regulation, Compliance and Legal Frameworks; Blockchain Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies; and Innovation, Culture and the Web3 Economy. MERGE aims to connect European and Latin American markets. Its programme is directed particularly at banks, market infrastructure providers, regulators, founders and teams developing digital-asset products for institutions. That institutional focus sets it apart from broader European gatherings such as MWC Barcelona, VivaTech Paris and Web Summit Lisbon, whose programmes span mobile technology, AI, startups and investment. It places MERGE alongside specialised blockchain conferences including EthCC in Cannes and Paris Blockchain Week. Europe’s regulatory environment, including the application of MiCA since December 2024, forms part of the backdrop. The Institutional Summit opens MERGE at the Bolsa de Madrid on 27 October. The main congress follows at the Palacio de Cibeles on 28–29 October.
