How Los Angeles Businesses Can Compete for 2028 Olympics Contracts

Los Angeles officials are encouraging Southern California businesses to register for contract opportunities ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. At her third annual Sports and Entertainment Procurement Summit on September 28, Mayor Karen Bass pointed to potential work in logistics, hospitality, tourism, transportation and events. The opportunities include contracts with city, state and federal government agencies. The free summit, launched in 2024, is intended to help local businesses prepare for major events coming to Los Angeles. Bass said owners could use it to access resources and hear from industry experts as they prepare to compete for contracts. She cited an expected $40 billion in economic opportunity associated with the LA28 Games. Businesses can register for potential opportunities with LA28, the City and County of Los Angeles, the state and federal governments, the Los Angeles Unified School District and LA Metro. Registration allows businesses to compete for work; the opportunities described by officials are not guaranteed contracts. The mayor’s office also pointed to ProcureLA, a program supporting local and small businesses seeking contracts. According to the office, those businesses have secured more than $45 million in contracts through the program.
