University of Houston Hilton College Hosts Corks & Forks Culinary and Wine Event
The University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership will present Corks & Forks, its annual culinary and wine experience. Now in its fifth year, the event brings together food, wine, culture and community through an evening of curated tastings. Corks & Forks is planned and executed entirely by Hilton College students. The event gives students a chance to apply their hospitality knowledge and leadership skills in a live setting while creating an experience for guests. Their work is central to the program, from the event’s overall organization to the presentation of its food and wine pairings. This year’s edition celebrates 250 years of friendship, heritage and hospitality between the United States and France. Guests will explore the history, culture and continuing influence of both countries through six sparkling wines from the United States and France. The wines will be paired with globally inspired cuisine, with each bite designed to complement its selected wine. The event’s pairings highlight culinary influence, cultural exchange, craftsmanship and connection, while also showcasing the students’ creativity, dedication and professionalism. For Houston, Corks & Forks is relevant because it places University of Houston students at the center of a hospitality event that connects the city’s academic community with food, wine and international cultural traditions.
