Lauren Tetef, a seasoned events producer, has organized the Open House Creative Fest, set to take place on June 27 and 28. "As an attendee, you get a little taste of what somebody does," Tetef explains, emphasizing the personal connections that can be formed through shared crafting experiences. The festival promises a vibrant atmosphere with free admission for browsing approximately 25 vendors, each offering their own crafting workshops. Tetef's path to this festival was not without challenges. After being laid off from her corporate marketing job due to tariff impacts, she seized the opportunity to pursue her passion for creativity. With the support of her family, she saved approximately $24,000 to fund the festival, demonstrating her commitment to bringing this dream to life. The choice of the old Joann store as a venue holds sentimental value, as it was a beloved space for many in the community, sparking imagination and creativity. With nearly 500 RSVPs and a growing interest in the event, Tetef is optimistic about the impact of the Open House Creative Fest. "It was such a special place to all of us," she reflects, hoping to reignite that sense of wonder and creativity in the hearts of attendees.
