Ferragosto 2026 in Five Dock, Sydney: Italian Street Festival Program and Times
Ferragosto will bring Italian food, music and community celebrations to Five Dock, one of Sydney’s key Italian-Australian neighbourhoods. Held annually in August, the festival transforms around 800 metres of Great North Road, between Queens Road and Lyons Road, as well as nearby side streets, into a large street event. It attracts more than 120,000 visitors each year. More than 150 food, wine and market stalls will offer Italian specialities, gourmet products, crafts, fashion and local business displays. Visitors can expect pasta, pizza, arancini, cannoli, gelato, espresso and regional delicacies, alongside artisan goods and homewares. Families will also have access to free rides near Lyons Road, games and other children’s activities. The programme includes FerraVarietà on the main stage, with music, comedy and performances featuring Arturo Toscani, James Liotta, Claudia Migliaccio, Coro D’Abruzzo, West Memphis, Viva La Diva, Gaetano Bonfante and The Italian Stallions. FerraCucina, relocated to the St Alban’s Church Grounds, will host live cooking sessions organised by Navarra Venues, led by chef Lorenzo Nava and Anna Simon. New attractions include the FerraCinCin wine and beer garden on Barnstaple Road, while Ramsay Road becomes Piazza Sandhurst and Garfield Street hosts Terrazza Aperol. For Sydney, Ferragosto is relevant because it highlights the longstanding Italian heritage of Five Dock and the City of Canada Bay. Since starting as a local initiative in 1998, it has grown into a major winter event that connects residents, businesses and community organisations while sharing Italian traditions with the wider city.
