Running shoes take over Waterfront Park on Sunday, October 4, 2026, as the Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running brings marathon, half-marathon, 10K and Kids Run distances to Portland. The marathon, half marathon and 10K will start and finish at 1000 SW Naito Pkwy in Waterfront Park. Drive toward Corbett, follow the historic highway where possible, and give yourself time to pause at the overlooks nearby. Vista House is especially striking in the morning, when the gorge is quieter and the low light catches the pale stone façade. Wind can be strong at Crown Point, so bring an extra layer even when the valley feels warm. Lanterns, mooncakes and harvest-moon traditions will fill Portland-area venues during the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival. Observed on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the holiday is celebrated across China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and Asian diaspora communities with reunions, gratitude and moon viewing. The free Portland Mid-Autumn Festival will return to Shun Fat Supermarket in Southeast Portland for its fifth year on Sept. 12-13. Organized by the White Lotus Foundation, the two-day gathering will feature more than 100 vendors, mooncake samples, cultural performances, children’s activities and a lantern parade, with free paper lanterns available. More than 10 showcases will present music, dance, martial arts and other Asian traditions. The Portland Asian Mid-Autumn & Harvest Festival Gala follows Sept. 20 at the Newmark Theatre. Presented by the Shenzhen Business Chamber of Commerce, the ticketed evening uses the theme “East Meets West—Tradition, Modernity, Creativity” and includes music, dance and cultural performances. Lan Su Chinese Garden will offer daytime programs and illuminated evening events from Sept. 25-27, with crafts, storytime, a marketplace, mooncake workshops and a lantern parade. GeekEasy Cafe begins no-bake snowskin mooncake classes Sept. 13, using molds in floral designs as well as Hello Kitty and Doraemon shapes. Multnomah County Library branches will host free activities through Oct. 10, including bilingual storytimes, guzheng music, rabbit-lantern making, crafts and mooncakes.

The Lake Oswego Open Studios Tour returns September 25–27, 2026, bringing a free, self-guided visit to 35 studios across Lake Oswego and West Linn. Nike and RAJ Sports Partner to Support Portland Thorns and Portland Fire

Nike and RAJ Sports have announced a partnership aimed at advancing women’s sport in Portland, with support for the Portland Thorns and Portland Fire. The collaboration combines Nike’s experience in sport innovation and athlete performance with RAJ Sports’ long-term plans for women’s teams, emphasizing athlete development, community impact and expanded opportunity. A central element is the planned development of a women-specific high-performance training facility in the Portland area. Nike will provide product, performance insight and environment design to help shape a space intended to support athletes’ training, recovery and preparation. The partnership also seeks to enhance training environments and promote year-round development beyond competition. Nike and RAJ Sports will work on youth programming in Portland, particularly for girls. Planned efforts include clinics, camps and product support intended to reduce barriers to participation.
