Miami Joins Orlando and More Emerging as the Top Sources for Boosting US Tourism by Welcoming the Most International Tou
Miami led five major US gateways that recorded year-on-year increases in international visitors during the first half of 2026, according to the supplied data. Between January and June, the city welcomed 2,510,046 international visitors, compared with 2,472,813 over the same period in 2025. That gain of 37,233 visitors equaled growth of about 1.5%. Orlando and Dallas posted faster growth rates, while Miami retained a wide lead in total international arrivals among the expanding gateways. Orlando received 974,267 visitors, and Houston, Dallas and Honolulu each logged roughly 522,000 to 614,000 arrivals. Miami’s international reach is tied to its role as a key aviation connection linking the United States with Latin America and the Caribbean. Beaches, cruise activity, shopping, nightlife, hospitality offerings and major events also sustain demand from visitors whose trips extend beyond the airport network. Together, Miami, Orlando, Houston, Dallas and Honolulu received 5,201,208 international visitors in the first six months of 2026. The total was 170,973 higher than a year earlier, an increase of about 3.4%. At its first-half average monthly pace, Miami could reach approximately 3,346,728 international visitors by August. That figure is a projection rather than an officially reported total.
