Madrid’s cultural institutions offer a wide range of free-entry periods, making it easier to visit major museums, royal sites and historic buildings without paying full admission. The schedule includes some of the city’s best-known venues, although visitors are advised to confirm opening times on each institution’s official website, as they may change depending on the season. The Prado offers free access from Monday to Saturday between 6 pm and 8 pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 5 pm to 7 pm. Its “Prado by Night” programme is held on the first Saturday of each month from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
