Atlanta’s Growing Entertainment Economy Beyond Film Production

Atlanta is expanding its role in U.S. entertainment and creative industries, building on its standing as a production destination. A Brandweek panel featured on ADWEEK’s Adspeak examines the city’s broader creative economy, shaped by talent, infrastructure and incentives. Moderated by Bashel Lewis, the discussion includes Rabbit Hole Technologies co-founder Blondel Aidoo, Laugh Cry Wow executive producer Eddy Moretti and Georgia Department of Economic Development senior industry engagement manager Asante Bradford. The panel describes opportunities for brands to collaborate directly with Atlanta creators, production companies, sports franchises and music properties outside traditional studio structures. Partnership-based financing and storytelling form a central focus. The panel argues that brands pursuing cultural connections can invest in emerging creators and local production ecosystems while developing new content. HBCUs and other local talent pipelines are identified as long-term sources of creative and technical talent. Sports, music and true-crime projects emerge as immediate partnership opportunities, while the democratization of content creation increases the value placed on the story itself. At the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Bradford builds partnerships and advances initiatives across gaming, film and interactive media while advising on Georgia’s entertainment incentives.
