Reflecting on the Vibrant Energy of Dream Con 2026
Just got back from Dream Con 2026 in Houston, and wow, what an experience! The George R. Brown Convention Center was buzzing with over 45,000 fans celebrating everything from comics and animation to gaming and cosplay. One of the highlights for me was attending the "Building Worlds Through Art & Animation" panel. Hearing Carl Jones from Martian Blueberry talk about pushing boundaries in storytelling was truly inspiring. He emphasized the importance of independent studios in bringing authentic narratives to life, especially when mainstream media often overlooks them. I also had the chance to meet some incredible creators in the Artist Alley. Joshua Mishoe's "Camp Geechee," a historical fiction manga rooted in Gullah Geechee culture, really stood out. It's amazing to see such diverse stories being told and celebrated. Overall, Dream Con 2026 was a testament to the vibrant and inclusive community that continues to grow around nerd culture. Can't wait to see what next year brings!
