Khora has changed. A lot.

It’s been a while since we posted here from the official Khora account. A lot has changed over the past year. Khora started as a simple idea around people and places nearby. Since then, we’ve redesigned and rebuilt a big part of the app, and the idea itself has grown into something much broader: People. Places. Passions. One of the biggest changes is Activities. Creating an activity is now much easier, with a completely redesigned interface and improved features. And you can now invite anyone with a simple link — even people who don’t have Khora yet. Create something to do, share the invitation on WhatsApp or wherever you want, and bring people together without requiring everyone to already be on Khora. We’ve also introduced and improved a lot more over the past year. You can create and follow Projects, create Pages for your different interests or activities, discover places and things happening around you, share photos, videos, music and audio, find events, and follow people, pages and topics you care about. The feed has evolved too. Alongside posts from people, Khora can now help you discover local news, interesting places, content related to your interests and stories from the cities you follow. We’ve redesigned chats, notifications, reactions, post creation and media sharing, improved the overall interface and performance, and made countless smaller changes throughout the app. But the biggest change is probably what we want Khora to become. We don’t want to build another endless social feed designed just to keep you scrolling. We want Khora to feel more like a daily magazine made by people — a place where you can discover something interesting, follow someone’s project, find somewhere new, see what’s happening around you, organize something together or meet people who share your passions. Khora is still a small independent project, and there’s still a lot we want to build. If you haven’t opened Khora in a while, come and have another look. It has changed quite a bit.
