Visit Denver Creates Executive Role to Grow Tourism Partnerships and Business Development
Visit Denver has created a senior leadership position to bring its tourism partnerships and business development work under one executive. The new vice president and chief partnership and business development officer will oversee relationships with industry partners as well as strategic initiatives connected to the Visit Denver Foundation. The appointee joins after nearly eight years at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, the executive held a senior customer experience role that combined sales, marketing and events with efforts to improve member relationships, retain customers and identify revenue opportunities. Earlier responsibilities at the chamber included investor relations, sales operations and event management. At Visit Denver, the role will cover partnership programs, sponsorships, advertising and cooperative marketing, in which organizations work together on promotions. It will also include industry events that bring tourism businesses and community organizations together. Visit Denver aims to use the position to strengthen its work with hotels, restaurants, attractions, event organizers and other businesses involved in the visitor economy. The appointment also connects Visit Denver’s commercial work with the foundation’s programs. Alongside partnership and business development duties, the new executive will provide strategic oversight of the Visit Denver Foundation’s tourism education and workforce development initiatives.
