Pratilipi to start IPO banker talks in September, eyes October appointment

Pratilipi, a digital storytelling and publishing platform, is gearing up for an initial public offering (IPO) with plans to engage investment bankers starting in September and appoint one by October. The company aims for a revenue target of Rs 400 crore by FY27, bolstered by its expansion into various media formats, including publishing, microdramas, and comics. Notably, its partnership with TikTok has surpassed expectations, generating an impressive 500 million views across its shows. The CEO, Ranjeet Pratap Singh, indicated that Pratilipi is nearly ready for the IPO, having completed most compliance requirements. The company’s literature segment, particularly Westland Books, is expected to be a significant contributor to its revenue, with projections of reaching Rs 20-25 crore monthly by March. Singh envisions Pratilipi evolving into a comprehensive intellectual property ecosystem, allowing stories to transcend languages and formats. Additionally, Pratilipi is leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance content production efficiency. This technology has drastically reduced the time needed for comic production and multilingual adaptations, enabling the company to increase its output significantly. With a focus on supplying content to various platforms, Pratilipi is poised for substantial growth in the competitive landscape of digital literature.
