Good Party ATX Brings Food, Festivals and Fall Activities to Austin This Weekend
Good Party ATX’s Sarah Wolf previewed Austin’s plans for Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, on *We Are Austin*, alongside Birdie, an adoptable puppy from Austin Pets Alive! The weekend calendar covers food, music, neighborhood events and outdoor activities. Friday brings the Austin Food & Wine Festival, featuring food, drinks and culinary experiences, and the outdoor KUTX Rock the Park concert. On Saturday, Austinites can volunteer in local green spaces for It’s My Park Day, attend the Kinda Good Tattoo Convention or head to the North Loop Block Party. Meanwhile Brewing is celebrating its sixth anniversary throughout the weekend. Sunday’s events include the Historic Hyde Park Homes Tour and Flatwater Fest. Austin Pets Alive! and Austin Animal Services will hold an adoption event Saturday at the PetSmart on Brodie Lane in South Austin. A free yoga class at East Village that day will also host a supply drive for Austin Pets Alive! Birdie, an approximately one-month-old Doberman mix, lives with a foster family that has other dogs and is beginning to learn commands such as “sit.” Wolf noted that November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month and encouraged people seeking a less energetic companion to consider an older dog or cat. Birdie’s littermates are being adopted; Birdie is still looking for a family.
