Denver Arts Festival Named World’s Best for Third Straight Year

Denver’s Cherry Creek Arts Festival has received the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award from the International Festivals and Events Association for the third year in a row. The annual festival, run by the nonprofit CherryArts, has won the award eight times in its 35-year history. The honor recognizes festival production and community impact. CherryArts competed in the association’s highest budget category, for events with budgets over $1.5 million. Held July 3–5 in Denver, this year’s festival featured 260 artists, including 37 from Colorado, selected from nearly 2,000 applicants. CherryArts said participating artists made $4.5 million in sales. Across its history, the festival has displayed work by nearly 4,000 artists in media including painting, photography, textiles, jewelry and sculpture. It also offers food and family activities, supports emerging artists and helps Colorado students buy original art for permanent display in their schools. CherryArts executive director Tara Brickell credited staff, volunteers, sponsors and exhibiting artists for the repeated recognition. She said money raised through the festival supports the nonprofit’s year-round arts education programs in Colorado. The next Cherry Creek Arts Festival is scheduled for July 2–4, 2027, in Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood, and artist applications are open through December 1.
