Best NYC Events in October 2026: Halloween, Film Festivals and Fall Activities
October 2026 will bring Halloween traditions, food festivals, film screenings and cultural events to all five boroughs. CultureCon opens the month at Brooklyn’s Duggal Greenhouse on October 3 and 4, bringing together Black creatives for more than 200 speakers, workshops, a career fair and immersive activations centered on the theme “Museum of Us.” The event is for attendees ages 18 and older. Queens hosts the 16th annual Taste of Sunnyside on October 4. More than 50 restaurants, bars and breweries will join the neighborhood tasting crawl, running from 1 to 7pm. Latin, Italian, French, Asian and Middle Eastern food will be on offer alongside live entertainment, an arts fair and family activities around the Sunnyside Arch, with a complimentary trolley available for visitors skipping the full walking route. The New York Film Festival continues through October 12 across several Lincoln Center venues, with films including *Godzilla Minus One*, *Iron Boy* and *Nitrate Kisses*. From October 15 to 18, the New York City Wine & Food Festival returns to the Seaport with dining events, tastings, classes, pier parties and brunches benefiting the James Beard Foundation. Halloween events include Boo at the Bronx Zoo on weekends through November 1, featuring animal talks, a hay bale course, performances and a costume parade. On October 31, Greenwich Village is expected to fill with more than 50,000 costumed participants for the annual Village Halloween Parade.
