NFL Unveils Three Days of Music and Fan Experiences to Kickoff Festival in Melbourne
Melbourne Park will host the NFL Kickoff Festival presented by American Express from September 10 to 12, as the city prepares for Australia’s first regular-season NFL game. The three-day event will combine live music, football viewing parties, fan activities, food, merchandise and interactive attractions ahead of and around the 2026 NFL Melbourne Game at the MCG. The festival opens on September 10 with an official watch party for the Patriots vs Seahawks season opener, shown on big screens from 10.20am AEST. The program includes NFL Live with Commissioner Roger Goodell and special guests, performances by Kita Alexander and Peking Duk, a Cross Codes Skills Challenge and appearances by the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders and Rams Mariachi. On September 11, the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will play at the MCG. Melbourne Park will host an official watch party for people not attending the game, while ticket holders at the MCG are invited to an official post-game party there. Entertainment is set to include Public Figures, Grinspoon and Hot Dub Time Machine, alongside an Australia vs New Zealand National Flag Football Showcase. Saturday’s program focuses on NFL FLAG, family activities and live music, including cheer clinics, the NFL FLAG Creator Cup, competitions and a Sneaky Sound System performance. Across all three days, visitors can access an NFL Museum featuring Super Bowl rings and the Vince Lombardi Trophy, skills challenges, a quarterback challenge, an NFL Shop and American-style food and drink venues. The festival is relevant to Melbourne because it extends the city’s landmark NFL game beyond the MCG, creating a major fan precinct at Melbourne Park and offering activities for both committed supporters and people new to the sport.
