
Remembrance Ruck crosses Brooklyn Bridge on September 13

The Remembrance Ruck takes place Sunday, September 13, beginning at Cadman Plaza Park in Brooklyn at 9 a.m. Organized by the NYC Department of Veterans’ Services and New York Road Runners, the free event follows a route across the Brooklyn Bridge and ends at Foley Square in Manhattan. An opening ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Participants can take part wearing a weighted rucksack or vest, or walk the route without added weight. A Veteran and Military Community Resource Fair follows at Surrogate’s Court near Foley Square. The fair will offer information on veterans benefits, housing, mental health, healthcare, employment, financial assistance and community support.
