Meditation offers stress relief, inner peace, says Swami Smaranananda

Meditation is increasingly recognized for its profound benefits in alleviating stress and fostering inner peace, as highlighted by Swami Smaranananda, vice-president of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS). Speaking at Sri Venkateswara University, he emphasized the significance of meditation, particularly ‘Kriya Yoga’, as a practical approach to self-realization and tranquility. This ancient practice provides effective solutions to contemporary challenges such as anxiety and mental unrest, making it relevant in today’s fast-paced world. During the event, which was organized in collaboration with Union Bank of India, Swami Smaranananda delivered an insightful lecture titled “Meditation: An Antidote to Stress, Worry and Anxiety.” He underscored the mission of the Yogoda Satsanga Society in preserving and sharing the sacred meditation techniques taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. These techniques, including the Hong-Sau Technique and AUM (Om) Technique, are designed to enhance spiritual growth and well-being. Additionally, Swami Smaranananda conducted a live demonstration of the Yogoda Energisation Exercise, illustrating how these scientifically crafted exercises recharge the body and prepare the mind for deeper meditation. The event attracted nearly 150 participants, including bank officers and university faculty, showcasing a growing interest in the transformative power of meditation and yoga.
