IRCTC website to get major upgrade from 15 July: Faster Tatkal bookings, fewer CAPTCHAs, fare calendar and more

The Indian Railways is set to unveil a significantly upgraded IRCTC website by July 15, aimed at enhancing the online ticket booking experience for passengers. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced this initiative in response to feedback from students who expressed frustrations over the existing platform, particularly regarding the cumbersome CAPTCHA verification process. The new website promises to deliver faster ticket bookings and improved navigation, making it more user-friendly. One of the most notable improvements is the website's increased booking capacity, which will rise from 32,000 to over 150,000 ticket bookings per minute. Additionally, the new system will handle more than 4 million inquiries per minute, vastly improving efficiency. Passengers will benefit from features such as the ability to choose preferred seats during booking and a fare calendar to compare prices across different travel dates. The platform will also support multiple languages, enhancing accessibility for users across India. The revamped website aims to eliminate unnecessary distractions, such as pop-ups and flashing graphics, streamlining the booking process. Passengers will be able to view seat availability across all classes simultaneously, simplifying their choices. Overall, these enhancements reflect a commitment to improving the travel experience for all passengers, making it easier and more efficient to book train tickets online.
