EDB and EdUHK jointly organise 4Rs Mental Health Professional Exchange Day cum Peer Power

On July 10, the Education Bureau (EDB) and the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) collaborated to host the 4Rs Mental Health Professional Exchange Day, which included the Peer Power - Student Gatekeeper Training Programme Achievement Sharing. The event, officiated by Secretary for Education Dr. Choi Yuk-lin and EdUHK President Professor John Lee, highlighted the importance of mental health in educational settings. Dr. Choi emphasized the EDB's commitment to fostering a supportive atmosphere through the 4Rs Mental Health Charter, which focuses on Rest, Relaxation, Relationship, and Resilience. The initiative has garnered participation from over 96 percent of schools in Hong Kong, reflecting a collective dedication to enhancing students' mental well-being. The event featured students sharing their experiences and achievements in mental health promotion through interactive booths designed by Peer Leaders. These activities not only engaged students but also reinforced the significance of a student-led approach in cultivating a caring school environment. In addition to student presentations, experts from various fields delivered workshops on topics such as mindfulness, creativity in mental health, and supporting emotional well-being for students with special needs. This collaborative effort underscores the vital role of community and cross-professional partnerships in nurturing mental health and mindfulness within educational institutions.
