Sufiya Sufi, an Indian ultra-marathoner, has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing a 4,167-kilometre run from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in just 68 days and 23 hours, setting a new world record. This extraordinary feat is part of her ongoing ‘Run for Dreams’ campaign, which aims to cover 5,000 kilometres and culminate at the Karakoram Pass in Ladakh. Beginning her journey on May 12, 2026, Sufiya faced numerous challenges, including extreme weather conditions and rugged terrains, while averaging nearly 60 to 70 kilometres daily. Her journey not only showcased her physical endurance but also highlighted her dedication to honoring the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. Along the way, she visited significant war memorials, receiving support from various agencies, including the Central Reserve Police Force. Sufiya’s commitment to her mission extends beyond personal achievement; she emphasizes the collective effort of her supporters, team, and the countless individuals who cheered her on. Sufiya’s story is a testament to perseverance and resilience. Transitioning from a corporate career in airline operations to ultra-distance running, she discovered her passion for endurance sports in 2017.
