20+ Things to Do in Richardson, TX, for the 2026 Holiday Season
Richardson’s 2026 holiday season centers on Santa’s Village, the Christmas Parade, CityLine’s light display and performances at the Eisemann Center. December 5 is the busiest day: the parade starts at 9 a.m., Santa’s Village opens at 6 p.m., and the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and Plano Civic Chorus perform Holiday Classics at 7:30 p.m. Many community events are free. At Huffhines Park, Santa’s Village offers children’s activities, performances and free photos with Santa on December 5–6, 11–13 and 18–20, from 6 to 9 p.m. A new adults-only evening on December 4 costs $15 plus fees, while a free sensory-friendly evening on December 10 requires an advance ticket. On December 7–10 and 14–17, visitors can walk through the illuminated village, although its buildings will be closed. The 54th Richardson Christmas Parade follows Coit Road between Richardson High School and J.J. Pearce High School, a change from its recent Plano Road route. Roads along the parade route close at 8 a.m. CityLine LIGHTS, near the DART Red Line’s CityLine/Bush Station, is free and is expected to run from mid-November into early January. The Eisemann Center also hosts three productions of *The Nutcracker* between November 27 and December 20. For shopping, CityLine Merry Market runs December 11–12 with more than 70 local makers. At CityLine Plaza, the holiday display features more than 500,000 lights and an 18-foot Christmas tree.
