1OAK Events Plans Busy Season of Brunches and Parties in Canterbury
1OAK Events, a brunch and entertainment brand, has become a regular feature of Canterbury’s party scene since launching in the city last March. More than 5,000 people have attended its Canterbury events, while over 30 brunches have sold out. The company is now preparing a busy autumn and Christmas programme at The Cuban in the city centre. Its events combine bottomless food and drinks with DJs, hosts, performers, games, giveaways, singalongs and dancing. Rather than following a standard brunch format, each session is built around a theme. Previous options have included Mamma Mia, Throwback R&B and Hip Hop, 90s and 00s music, Ibiza and Club Classics, Drag Bingo, UK Garage, country, rock and indie, and pop-themed parties. The next major Canterbury event is the Halloween Special: Circus Of Horrors Evening Party Brunch, planned for October at The Cuban. It will feature themed production, scare actors, DJs, hosts and performers, with guests also receiving free entry to the venue’s Halloween club night afterwards. The Christmas schedule includes Big Xmas Evening Party Brunches on December 4, 11 and 18, as well as a Drag Bingo Christmas Special with Sophia Stardust on December 5 and The Ultimate Christmas Pop Party & Cheese on December 12. The programme is relevant to Canterbury because it adds organised options for Halloween, Christmas gatherings and group celebrations in the city centre. With many previous dates reaching capacity, local residents and visitors considering a particular event may need to plan ahead.
