City of Austin Celebrates 36th Annual Austin Pride Parade
On Saturday, August 22 at 8 p.m., the City of Austin and the Austin Pride Foundation will come together for the 36th annual Austin Pride Parade. The event is a long-standing celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, bringing residents, visitors, families, friends, and local organizations into the heart of the city for an evening of visibility and connection. This year’s theme, “Viva la Resistencia,” honors resilience, presence, and forward momentum. It reflects the strength of a community that continues to show up, speak out, and create space for everyone to live openly and authentically. The parade is both a celebration and a reminder of the people, stories, and work that have shaped Austin Pride over the years. City departments and partners will support the event through coordinated planning and special-event services. The Austin Center for Events works across City of Austin agencies to help streamline permitting and operations for events held on public and private property, helping make large community gatherings possible.
