Join the Iroquois Beach Cleanup in Whitby on July 23
Join us for a meaningful community event at Iroquois Beach in Whitby on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We’re hosting a Love Your Lakes cleanup, and we invite everyone to come together to help protect the beautiful Lake Ontario and its surrounding green spaces. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference by removing litter from the shoreline and park areas, all while enjoying the great outdoors. Organized by A Greener Future, this cleanup is not just about picking up trash; it’s also an effort to gather valuable data on litter trends. By understanding these patterns, we can work towards developing long-term solutions that will benefit our environment for years to come. Your participation will not only help beautify our community but also contribute to important environmental research. No experience is necessary to join us, as we will provide all the supplies and a brief orientation to get everyone started. We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather, wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes, and bringing along some water to stay hydrated. High school students can also earn community service hours by participating, making this a great way to give back while fulfilling school requirements. We’ll meet right on the beach at Iroquois Beach, so be sure to register in advance to secure your spot. Together, let’s work towards a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone to enjoy!
