Two Men Charged After Pointing Imitation Gun at Sydney Synagogue During Shabbat
In a troubling incident in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, two men have been charged after allegedly pointing an imitation firearm at a synagogue. This event occurred around midday on a Saturday when the individuals, aged 22 and 25, drove past the synagogue on Kiaora Road in Double Bay and aimed the fake weapon at the building. The swift response from local police led to the interception of their vehicle shortly after the incident, where officers recovered the imitation pistol and arrested the suspects. The younger of the two men faces multiple charges, including using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offense, unauthorized possession of a pistol, and stalking or intimidating with the intent to instill fear of physical harm. The older suspect has been charged with unauthorized possession of a pistol.
