Multi-million-rand GrandWest Mall coming soon to Cape Town
The GrandWest Mall, a multi-million-rand shopping hub, is set to open in Cape Town's Goodwood suburb in June 2027. This new development will complement the existing GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, enhancing the vibrant entertainment landscape of the area. With an investment of R650 million, the mall aims to cater to both local residents and visitors, fulfilling a growing demand for retail space in the community. Designed by MDS Architecture, the GrandWest Mall will cover 22,000 square meters and will be strategically located between the N1 and N2 highways, providing easy access for shoppers. The project is being developed by the Flanagan & Gerard Group in partnership with Sun International, ensuring a blend of quality architecture and functional design. The mall will feature secure open-air parking, with multiple access points for convenience. Retail offerings are already taking shape, with over 70% of the gross lettable area leased. Major tenants include Checkers, Clicks, and various fashion brands, highlighting the mall's commitment to providing a diverse shopping experience. This development is part of a broader trend in South Africa, where new shopping centers are emerging to meet the evolving needs of consumers.
