Singapore Airlines to Open New SilverKris Lounge at Melbourne Airport for Premium Travelers
Singapore Airlines is set to enhance the travel experience for premium passengers at Melbourne Airport with the construction of its new SilverKris Lounge. This exciting development, which is part of a broader $4.5 billion expansion of the airport's international terminal, will provide a larger, more inviting space for travelers. The lounge will be 30% bigger than its predecessor and will feature abundant natural light and stunning panoramic views of the airfield, creating a serene environment for relaxation or work. Relocating to the third floor of the International Terminal, adjacent to Gates 10 and 11, the new SilverKris Lounge draws design inspiration from the flagship lounge at Singapore Changi Airport. This refined space will combine elegant finishes with thoughtful design elements, ensuring that travelers enjoy a premium experience that reflects the high standards of Singapore Airlines' inflight service. Jim Parashos, Chief of Aviation at Melbourne Airport, emphasized that this lounge will offer one of the best vantage points in the airport, allowing guests to watch aircraft take off and land while enjoying top-notch amenities. The new lounge is a testament to Singapore Airlines' commitment to the Victorian market, particularly as the airline celebrates 55 years of service to Melbourne. With five daily flights connecting Singapore and Melbourne, the airline is keen to provide an elevated experience for its customers. The current lounge will remain operational during the construction phase, ensuring minimal disruption for travelers. Melbourne Airport's CEO, Lorie Argus, highlighted that this new lounge development aligns with the airport's ambitious plans to cater to the growing demand for international travel.
