Emylee Thai, a Houston laboratory owner, has recently become a prominent figure on the FBI's most-wanted fraudster list due to her involvement in a staggering Medicare fraud scheme estimated to be worth nearly $100 million. Thai, 41, allegedly orchestrated a complex operation that involved contracting marketers to obtain signed doctors' orders and patient DNA samples for unnecessary genetic tests. These tests, which were often never utilized in patient treatment, resulted in Medicare reimbursements that amounted to about $95 million for her lab, despite billing the program approximately $142 million.
