Aer Lingus Launches First Transatlantic Avios-Only Flight from Dublin to New York

Aer Lingus is celebrating a significant milestone in its loyalty program, AerClub, by launching its first-ever transatlantic Avios-Only flight from Dublin to New York (JFK). This inaugural flight, scheduled for November 13, marks a decade of rewarding loyal customers and highlights the airline's commitment to providing unique travel opportunities. The Avios-Only concept allows every seat on the flight to be purchased exclusively with Avios, the airline's reward currency, making it a special offering for AerClub members. Since its inception in 2016, AerClub has attracted over four million members worldwide, allowing them to collect and redeem Avios through various means, including travel and everyday shopping. The introduction of this transatlantic flight is a testament to the program's growth and the airline's dedication to enhancing customer loyalty. Members can book return flights for just 23,400 Avios in Economy and 90,000 Avios in Business Class, which is a 10% discount compared to standard rates, making it an attractive option for those looking to travel to New York. The flight not only provides a fantastic opportunity for a long weekend getaway in the bustling city but also includes added benefits such as a 23kg checked bag and a 10kg carry-on for long-haul journeys. Aer Lingus's Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, emphasized the program's value, stating that these flights are designed to maximize the use of Avios while catering to members who may not have enough points for a full fare. With the ability to convert Tesco Clubcard vouchers into Avios, members can further enhance their travel experiences. As Aer Lingus continues to innovate within its loyalty program, this new flight represents a significant step forward in making travel more rewarding for its dedicated members.
