The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) has once again made headlines by achieving an impressive score of 9.7 in the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) 2026, surpassing the global average of 8.0. This remarkable performance has allowed the institute to maintain its Level 5 'Pioneering School' status for the fifth consecutive year, a distinction that highlights its commitment to societal progress and the preparation of future leaders to tackle global challenges. The PIR is a unique, student-led evaluation that emphasizes the broader impact of business schools beyond traditional academic metrics. IIM Bangalore's strengths were particularly evident in the 'Energize' and 'Educate' categories of the PIR. The institute scored an outstanding 9.8 in governance and 9.7 in institutional culture, reflecting its robust governance structure and a positive learning environment. In the 'Educate' category, which assesses programs and student support, IIM Bangalore achieved a score of 9.6, significantly higher than the global average of 7.9. These scores underscore the institute's dedication to providing high-quality education and support to its students. The PIR assessment, which garnered nearly 20,000 valid student responses from 87 business schools across 32 countries, is the largest of its kind to date.
