Bengaluru is facing a significant water crisis, prompting the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to implement strict regulations on the use of drinking water. Due to declining groundwater levels and a weak southwest monsoon, the BWSSB has banned the use of potable water for non-essential activities such as filling swimming pools, washing cars, and construction work. The only exception to this ban is for swimming pools used by athletes, which require prior approval.
