Silicon Road Ventures in Atlanta Launches AIF for B2B AI Commerce-Tech Startups in India
Silicon Road Ventures (SRV), an early-stage venture capital firm based in Atlanta, has recently launched an India-focused Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) aimed at supporting B2B Agentic AI commerce technology startups. This fund, which has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has a target corpus of INR 150 Crores and has already achieved its first close, allowing it to begin deploying capital effectively. The primary goal of this fund is to invest in early-stage companies that are driving digital transformation and enhancing operational efficiency for retailers, brands, manufacturers, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies. The fund will concentrate on various key areas, including multi-channel commerce, supply chain and logistics, fintech, consumer insights, and retail operations. One of its unique offerings is the provision of access to the U.S. market, which includes leadership, infrastructure, and funding opportunities for technologies that can be adapted for American consumers. SRV typically invests at the Seed and Series A stages and is committed to supporting its portfolio companies through subsequent funding rounds. Founded in 2019 by Sid Mookerji, SRV brings a wealth of sector-specific expertise, particularly in retail and enterprise technology. Mookerji, who also manages the Silver Spirit Global LLC Family Office, has a strong background in technology solutions for retail, having co-founded Software Paradigms International, which was acquired by Cognizant in 2018. The leadership team includes experienced professionals like Ross Kimbel and Frank Tighe, who bring valuable insights from their previous roles in major corporations and incubators. In India, Partner Ajay Mahajan leads the investment efforts, leveraging over 30 years of experience in banking and financial services. SRV has already backed more than 30 startups across various themes, including AI-led commerce and supply chain intelligence, demonstrating its commitment to fostering innovation and growth in the Indian market.
